2005 Models

Features of the redesigned front-wheel-drive Dodge minivans for 2005 focus on the interior. Dodge emphasizes the minivan's price, advising that the Caravan SE is the lowest-priced minivan on the market. Sales began in early 2004.

Redesigned for the 2005 model year, Dodge's small pickup truck has grown in size and the automaker says it's the largest in its class. Styling features are reminiscent of the full-size Ram pickup. A V-6 and two V-8 engines are available in Dakota models.

Dodge redesigned its Durango sport utility vehicle for the 2004 model year. Larger than its 1998 - 2003 predecessor, it sported a decidedly different look. Engine choices include DaimlerChrysler's Hemi V-8, a smaller V-8 and a V-6. A new Adventurer model joins the 2005 lineup.

The 2005 model year redesign of Dodge’s front-wheel-drive Grand Caravan and the Chrysler Town & Country focuses on the interior. Newly available Stow ’n Go seating lets you fold both the second- and third-row seats into the floor. The new minivans went on sale in early 2004. Dodge also offers a shorter-wheelbase Caravan series.

Serving as a replacement for the front-wheel-drive Dodge Intrepid sedan, the new Magnum is actually a wagon with rear-wheel drive. Two V-6 engines or a Hemi V-8 may be installed. An Electronic Stability Program and traction control — standard on the RT model — help cope with snowy and icy surfaces.

Competing against such compact rivals as the Honda Civic, the smallest Dodge sedan comes in SE and value-priced SXT trim levels. The Neon is powered by a 132-horsepower engine. A variety of options lets the Neon owner personalize his or her vehicle. The R/T edition has been dropped, and a Neon replacement is expected during 2006.

Available in half- , three-quarter- and one-ton capacities, Dodge's full-size pickup trucks continue to flaunt the unmistakable look of ruggedness. Light-duty 1500 models were redesigned for 2002, and 2500/3500 trucks followed in 2003. A brand-new Ram SRT10 that packs a 500-horsepower Viper V-10 joined the lineup for 2004, followed in 2005 by a new Power Wagon version of the 2500 for demanding offroad tasks.

Originally a Freightliner product, the full-size Sprinter van adopted a Dodge badge early in 2003. Passenger- and cargo-carrying models are offered, as well as a choice of roof heights. Freightliner Sprinters also remain available.

Dodge's compact coupe and larger sedan are cousins to the Chrysler Sebring. Both Stratus body styles are offered in a sporty R/T trim and in family-focused SXT form.

You can't miss a Viper when it passes you on the road. Redesigned for 2003, the hottest Dodge of all got a new 500-horsepower V-10. The Viper SRT10 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds and run from a standstill to 100 mph and back to zero in less than 13 seconds.
