Introductions
Models debuting in the 2006 model year

Highlander Hybrid
Related to the Lexus RX 330, Toyota's midlevel car-based sport utility vehicle has its own styling and personality. Face-lifted for 2004, the Highlander can be equipped with a four-cylinder or V-6 engine and front- or all-wheel drive. A gasoline/electric Highlander Hybrid joins the lineup for 2006.

Redesigns
Models that have undergone significant mechanical and/or sheet-metal changes since the previous model year

RAV4
Toyota's RAV4 sport utility vehicle has grown considerably as part of its 2006 redesign. The new RAV4 can be powered by either a four-cylinder or V-6 engine, and when equipped with the available third-row seat can hold up to seven people. Three trim levels are offered, including a new Sport model.

Remaining Lineup

4Runner
Toyota's 4Runner sport utility vehicle can be equipped with either a V-6 or V-8 engine, as well as rear- or four-wheel drive. Such features as Downhill Assist Control and Hill-start Assist Control enhance the 4Runner's offroad potential. Modest restyling for 2006 affects the front and rear ends.

Avalon
Redesigned for the 2005 model year, Toyota's largest passenger car holds a 3.5-liter V-6 and is bigger and roomier than its predecessor. A Touring edition targets younger buyers. Except for new options, little has changed for 2006.

Camry
Toyota's popular front-wheel-drive midsize Camry is available in a variety of models, and it can be equipped with four-cylinder or V-6 power. Engine horsepower figures have been re-rated for 2006 using new Society of Automotive Engineers testing standards, but little else has changed. Competitors include the Honda Accord, Mazda Mazda6 and Nissan Altima.

Camry Solara
Redesigned for 2004, Toyota's midsize front-wheel-drive coupe gained a shapely new look. A new five-speed-automatic transmission became available, and the V-6 received more power. A convertible is also offered. For 2006, a five-speed-automatic transmission can be installed in four-cylinder coupes.

Corolla
The compact Corolla carries on Toyota's long-standing tradition of dependable and economical small-car transportation. Though the Corolla isn't the least-expensive compact sedan, it ranks among the most sensible choices.

Highlander
Related to the Lexus RX 330, Toyota's midlevel car-based sport utility vehicle has its own styling and personality. Face-lifted for 2004, the Highlander can be equipped with a four-cylinder or V-6 engine and front- or all-wheel drive. A gasoline/electric Highlander Hybrid joins the lineup for 2006.

Land Cruiser
Part of the Toyota lineup for roughly half a century, the Land Cruiser is a full-size sport utility vehicle that's related to the more expensive Lexus LX 470. Land Cruisers have permanently engaged four-wheel drive. For 2006, the Land Cruiser's 4.7-liter V-8 gains 40 horsepower.

Matrix
Related to the Pontiac Vibe, the Toyota Matrix hatchback comes in three trim levels and is available with a choice of two engines and either front- or all-wheel drive. Little has changed for 2006.

Prius
Last redesigned for 2004, the hybrid-powered Prius is a sleek midsize hatchback. In contrast to Honda's hybrid system, electric operation is dominant in the Prius and the gasoline engine provides supplementary power. The headlights and taillights have been restyled for 2006, and additional safety features are installed.

Sequoia
Based on Toyota's Tundra pickup truck, the Sequoia is the company's largest sport utility vehicle. In addition to a freshened exterior for 2005, the Sequoia's 4.7-liter V-8 gained power. This eight-passenger SUV can be equipped with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Little has changed for 2006.

Sienna
Launched as an early 2004 model, Toyota's redesigned Sienna minivan had a longer wheelbase and wider track than its highly capable predecessor, yet it turned a tighter circle. Four trim levels are available, and all-wheel drive is offered on up-level versions. For 2006, the Sienna receives exterior styling modifications.

Tacoma
Toyota redesigned its small pickup truck for 2005, making the Tacoma larger and more powerful. Three cab styles and two bed lengths are offered, and these trucks can be equipped with two- or four-wheel drive.

Tundra
Toyota added a new, larger Double Cab model to its full-size pickup truck lineup for 2004. A little smaller than domestic full-size models, the Tundra can be equipped with either V-6 or V-8 power. Both engines gained power for 2005 and have been re-rated under a new measuring system for 2006. Tundras are available in three cab styles.
